PROJECT NARRATIVE

2,500-square-foot private residence/art studio on site at 9700’elevation. Program included 1,250 SF art studio and 1,250 SF residential quarters including master bedroom and bath with a sleeping loft.  Building invites natural light, with full height doors opening to the wood terrace to provide indoor/outdoor experience. Finishes included massaranduba exterior rain screen, river rock veneer, polished concrete floors, rift cut white oak millwork.

innovations

The building was constructed utilizing prefabricated foundation walls set on gravel footings, prefabricated structural insulated wall and roof panels, and prefabricated CNC milled roof trusses.

This project was featured in the book Modern Cabin (Gibbs Smith Publisher, 2007); in Telluride Magazine Winter 2007, and in Shelter Magazine Winter 2007

Management responsibilities

In charge of all design and construction processes, including lead project design, program development, team building, development and management of overall budget and schedule; negotiation of all construction subcontracts, intensive value-engineering efforts to maintain budget and schedule goals construction sequence.
